A great program for teens and young adults in Norfolk! The Norfolk Emerging Leaders (NEL) program provides teens ages 16-19 (as well as college and graduate students) with paid summer employment opportunities.

Description from the City of Norfolk website:  The Norfolk Emerging Leaders Program provides Norfolk youth between the ages of 16-21 with meaningful paid summer work experiences. Youth have an opportunity to explore careers in local government and gain value hands-on work experience through placement in various job assignments in City departments. The program provides job readiness training and financial literacy education to develop the essential skills necessary to better prepare young people for the future workforce.

This position requires the availability to work up to 40 hours per week. Work hours, workdays, and work schedules may vary based on job assignments.
