The Strawberry Festival was one of the first local festivals I attended in Hampton Roads, even before we were officially living in the area. If you haven't been it is worth the trip!
On-site at the festival you will find food (much of it strawberry themed!), lots of great local vendors, and tons of family-friendly fun. Clowns, face painting, carnival rides, livestock, music, fire truck water demonstrations, dog show, a pie eating contest, pig racing, and of course the Parade on Saturday. For a full schedule of events click HERE.
When: The Festival runs both Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26, 2013 from 9am to 7pm. The Parade will be Saturday May 25th beginning at 10am. There are no pets allowed at the Festival.
Where: You can find the Pungo Strawberry Festival at 1776 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
Cost: Parking is $5 and admission to the festival itself is FREE.
Make sure you leave yourself time for parking and for the traffic that can happen with such a popular event.
Pick Your Own: Looking for local places to pick your own strawberries? Check out our list HERE and don't forget that some of the best picking can be during the week!
