Teachers – An Exciting LEGO Opportunity!

An exciting LEGO opportunity for local middle school teachers and students! This annual competition is held by The Virginia Ship Repair Association and the DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED! The flyer below says January 10th but the deadline has been extended to January 20, 2014.

This competition offers a $1500 first prize!

What exactly do the schools LEGO teams accomplish? Students are able to design a ship, portion of a ship or ship component that is repaired in Hampton Roads. Examples might be a carrier, a berthing compartment or a communications center on a ship. Design must use LEGO Digital Designer software (this is available free online). The teams also research and develop an essay about the ship repair industry and conduct a visual presentation in front of a panel of judges

If you know a MIDDLE SCHOOL teacher or student that would enjoy this project please share! Each team needs a minimum of 3 (maximum of 12) students.
