Join us for the Annual Warbirds Over the Beach Air Show May 18 & 19 at the Military Aviation Museum.
The Museum's aircraft from the 1940's and earlier, which are all meticulously restored to flying condition will be on display and flying maneuvers. Plus, many more aircraft will be on display from other museums and personal collections from all around the country. You will truly feel like you have stepped back in time with over 300 re-enactors on site representing all facets of World War Two troops. Interact with Allied and friendly Axis troops at their encampments with vehicles, armor, and artillery demonstrations. Schedule yourself a ride in World War II airplanes or shop our vendors and military flea markets while enjoying continuous musical entertainment from the 1940's that begins Saturday and Sunday at 10:00am and runs throughout both days.
This year, the star of the show will be the newest member of our ever growing Warbird family, the Restored WWII Mosquito. It took eight years to put the Mosquito together again, but it is now airworthy, making it the only Mosquito in the world capable of flight today. At the onset of World War II, the British de Havilland Aircraft Company pitched an idea for a wooden warplane at a time when aluminum was in short supply, nearly 8,000 were built during the war in England, Australia and Canada. Called the "Wooden Wonder," the plane was lauded for its speed and versatility. Mosquitoes weren't exactly easy to find, and getting one to fly would be even more improbable, "Nobody had ever rebuilt one. It was so difficult," owner, Jerry Yagen said, adding that a Mosquito is like the "Holy Grail" among vintage fighter planes, but it has been done and will make its official début at our Airshow this year!
We are honored that distinguished veterans from World War II will be at the event, sharing their experiences. Get the unique opportunity to shake the hands of the ones that for the freedom we now enjoy!
For ticket prices and packages, please visit our website http://www.VBairshow.com.
Enjoy re-enactors setting up encampments and watch the visiting warplanes arrive and explore all our Museum has to offer Friday, May 18 for the Admission price of regular Museum admission.
Travel to the warmth of Virginia Beach, alongside the bright sunshine of the Atlantic shoreline, where German submarines once hunted merchant ships in the Gulfstream waters. Look up in the sky, where you will see fighters and bombers of our armed forces patrol the country side to protect our homeland from the Axis forces. If you are coming out of town, stay at the historic Cavalier Hotel and look overlooking the ocean, where you will get the Warbirds Over the Beach Special Rate.
Look to the sky and see WWWI Airborne Demonstration Team with their round parachutes, the Museum’s B-17G Flying Fortress “Chuckie” along with one of the only two flying Lancaster Bombers in the world, which is just a few of the impressive line-up of vintage aircraft that will be on up close display and soaring above. The P-51 Mustang and Corsair and the ME 262 will also be headlining the extensive list of World War Two aircraft.

Beach Music Weekend and Cruise-In May 16-19
Winter’s gone and it’s time to get the flip-flops out and head to the beach for Beach Music Weekend and the Cruisin’ Virginia Beach Car Show on the beach at 30th Street.
Beach Music Cruise-In blends the best of the “oldies” with dancing under the stars in a jam-packed blast to the past! Settle into the sand as the top beach music bands from up and down the East Coast descend on the Virginia Beach oceanfront in a nostalgic salute to the “good old days” of cool cars and hot tunes.
A three-day series of free concerts is presented on a stage built right on the beach at 30th Street. Evening concerts on Friday give way to a full day of entertainment on Saturday and more daytime concerts on Sunday.
The new car show feature will turn the boardwalk into a local version of “Route 66,” with cars and trucks from yesterday and today competing for trophies and Best-in-Show cash prizes. Individuals from throughout the region will display their automobiles. Hot rods, street machines, classic cars, and more will line the Virginia Beach boardwalk for several blocks, where thousands of car enthusiasts and families can view the vehicles in a beautiful beach setting.

Snow White Goes West
Friday May 17 @ 7:00 pm
Saturday May 18 @ 3:00 pm
Sunday May 19 @ 3:00 pm
It's Snow White with a Stetson! Set during the California Gold Rush, this
rambunctious tongue-in-cheek retelling of the timeless classic pits the
hapless heroine against an ill-tempered saloon hall owner named Queenie and
her assistant Sneaky Sam. In true fairy tale fashion, all ends well, thanks to
handsome marshal Joe Prince and the seven prospecting Dwarf Brothers.
"The wonderful thing about old legends is, you can tell 'em in different ways. Jim Eiler's script has action without hysteria, humor without silliness and romance without mush." -Los Angeles Times

Music by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy
Based on the Grimm Brothers' Tale
SNOW WHITE GOES WEST - PRINCE STREET PLAYERS VERSION is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
